What is known is that there were to events documented that were held there, “Feeling Groovy” with Groovy Guy Blaine in 1973 and the event for Leo who as running for Groovy Guy in 1973, “Who has more fun than people.”
Per Walter W Cole/Darcelle in an interview 2018, “The Town Pump was a bar on SW 2nd and Salmon – you had to take an elevator to get to it as it was on the second floor of the building.”
*it must have been a bar and there is no indication that there was food served so no hard liquor could be sold.
Groovy Guy # 3 [1972] held a party sponsored by the Portland Forum “A new concept in gay entertainment” called “Feeling Groovy”. This was during Groovy Guy # 3 Blaine Bever’s reign as Groovy Guy. [See Below from The Fountain newspaper, February 1972 and March 1972.]
