On website it states RFD means: Rustic Fairy Dreams
· Has its own website: http://www.rfdmag.org/
· Per book A Curious and Peculiar People page 201, “A magazine for gays living a rural lifestyle was published in Oregon. It was distributed primarily by mal, wrapped in plain paper. There were only eight subscriptions in Oregon, but it drew the attention of Oregon State prison censors….”
· Donnie emailed the ‘Contact Us’ on the website: Donnie, “RFD magazine started in Grinnell Iowa but it moved often in its early history. One of those stops was Wolf Creek OR. Several issues were produced there before the magazine shifted again as it often did - early on even a single issue could be produced in a different place. RFD is a take on the postal service's rural free delivery but its actuality RFD is merely RFD as the "stands for" also changes every single issue! So, it's really just RFD magazine. Many of the people who worked on RFD on lived at Magdalen Farm, Wolf Creek. Later very close by people bought land which became Nomenus' Wolf Creek Sanctuary. Copies of RFD are held at Oregon University collections.” Bambi submissions@rfdmag.org (RFD related) www.rfdmag.org RFD - A Reader Created Journal Celebrating Queer Diversity Since 1974
