PANARAMA
It was a large warehouse-style space for dancy on the east end of the building that connected the Fish Grotto, Boxx’s and The Brig. Though it was cited often in Damron’s, not much press was written about this space.

listed in Fodor’s Gay Guide to the USA 1996 Under Bars and Clubs Crowd: 50/50 gay/straight; mixed N/F; extremely young; serious dancers, posers; lots of spiked hair, shaved heads, body piercing. “Opened in 1994 with the aim of becoming Portland’s first same-sex Superclub, the crowd has always been at least 50% straight. It’s still a good place to dance, but the tension between straights and gays pretty much kills the cruise factor. The crowd is also unbelievably young – lots of rebellious kids from the burbs. If you’re comfortable with all this, you shouldn’t find the place menacing, but Panorama is not for everybody.”
