Photo below is possibly from 1986 Windfire event at Darcelle XV Showplace per Todd Widme Facebook post:
It’s hard to believe it was 35 years ago today a fundraiser for Windfire was held #DarcelleXVShowplace. It was a fundraiser to send a gay youth representative from Portland to an international seminar in Amsterdam. I was talked into doing a number in the show. Obviously my first time. My sister Cheryl & friend Susan Bogdan were my backup dancers. (Helped with stage fright) Now comes the vulnerable part, photos! Yes, I’ll understand the 😂 or 😳 emoji.
I couldn’t find a wig so I did an Annie Lenox cut with a hat. Lady Elaine Peacock is in the gold gown, me in red next to her, Sandie Simone in black on the left, was our Betty Boop! Our Emcee was Chuck Billedeaux and the representative that went to Amsterdam. Obviously the best & most articulate guy to attend and represent us! Thankful for the amazing memories from that day.
One comment: That is awesome!!!! Karen Girl George Jar is standing next to Peacock. She was Ms. Gay Portland 1 and the first female Rose Emperor.
Unknown if Windfire ended in 1992 or thereafter. More research is needed.
