MOTHER FEATHERSTONE
Owned by Robert Featherstone. He was an older man whom many referred to as “Mother” Featherstone. It is believed that he was just a kind older man who had a bar where young people would go. Not much is known about the place or Robert, or the bar known as Mother Featherstone.
Per David Grant Kohl’s book, A Curious and Peculiar People, page 15, “Near the bus depot, other taverns were Near the bus depot, other taverns were the Reed, Brown Jug, Rose City, and Buddy’s Post. Nearer to the Willamette were the Transfusion Inn, the sleazy “Old Glory (Glory Hole) and a mysterious eatery known fondly as “Mother Featherstone’s Finishing School for Frustrated Faggots.”
