Per Empress Tracey St. James, “The one with me sitting on the throne and Darcelle as Elizabeth the 1st. Was the spring ball at the Pythian, the show was called England swings. This was the costume judging and of course, Darcelle won it. Fabulous entry and gown.” Another story from Empress XVI Tracey St James during a one on one in Palm Springs on October 27, 2022. “Both Walter W Cole/Darcelle and Van Richards/The Vanessa came to the event as Elizabeth I. Vanessa demanded that she enter last – “The grandest of entrances”. Tracey went to Walter/Darcelle and told him of this and with a broad smile he said, “I’ll gladly go in ahead of her.” The two outfits were total opposite, and Darcelle receive the most admiration.”
