Interesting history of the space before Flight 181 and The New Ritz it was Calvin’s. See the ad in Old Portland Today newspaper, June 1, 1975, Below Left. At Calvin’s theater was produced per an ad in Oregon Journal on November 14, 1974, see Below Right.

Mark Allen continued to use the space for another play as stated in the February 15, 1975, Oregon Journal, last mention in Oregon Journal about Calvin’s. See Below.

Per an ad in The Portland Scribe, June 11-17, 1975, LIVE MUSIC also ad under the banner Scribe Bar-Tavern-Restaurant Guide Calvin’s has changed to FLIGHT 181.[See Below Left] And, in listings in the same issue “FLIGHT 181 (Formerly CALVINS). [See Below Right] This was located within the New Ritz Hotel which had been known as Hotel St Marco which address was 1116 SW Washington.  Same building – different entrance than The New Ritz (Disco)
