DOUG FIR

Per Just Out December 17, 2004, page 35 “NEW QUEER EVE”  Hipsters unite to ring in the new year during the first-ever Doug Fir Lounge 830 E Burnside St. Two levels of fun and mayhem are promised to ensue when White Hot Odyssey takes the stage early on, 1 followed by grooves from DJs Pander, Izm, Evil and Anjali and the Incredible Kid. This not-queer-only show lasts from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., during which time the curious creatures known as the Fir Girls will slink about in tattoos and fur. A mere $20 in advance from  www.dougfirlounge.com or $25 at the door.

Per Wikipedia: The Doug Fir Lounge is a bar and restaurant housed within the ground level of the Jupiter Hotel, in Portland, Oregon's Buckman neighborhood, in the United States.[1][2] It was established in 2004 and features a basement music and event space.

Doug Fir Lounge and Restaurant: A darling among Portland's many hip music clubs, the retro-chic, and gay-popular spot is attached to the similarly hipster-frequented Jupiter Hotel in Southeast Portland, several blocks east of Burnside Bridge. The basement lounge presents many of the nation's top alternative acts, including quite a few LGBTQ+ favorites. Upstairs, the restaurant serves tasty mod-American fare.
