  Walking on SE 13th today I noticed lots of construction and exterior painting going on at Assaggio (corner of SE 13th and SE Lambert). The Assaggio sign on the side of the building has been taken down, as well as the name on the door.

  Assaggio has been closed for a while, and the windows have been covered almost that entire time. I was lucky to get a sneak peek as the side door at the Lambert corner (which I think would be better as the main entrance) was open and I noticed a bar being built into that area. This is where the main dining area/kitchen was before.

  So maybe the once side door really will become the main entrance, which makes more sense to me. Kind of like the entrance to Gino's. The Assaggio website looks like it's completely down, so we'll see if it will even be called Assaggio once it re-opens. Stay tuned, I'll be following this one!
