Per www.wired.com/story/brief-history-porn-internet/: “The first erotic film, a striptease called Le Coucher de la Mariée, released in 1896, was also heating up audiences. By the late 1950s, the advent of 8-mm film put the power of porn in anyone’s hands—and launched the modern porn industry.”

Per Wikipedia, “The term "Golden Age of Porn", or "porno chic", refers to a 15-year period (1969–1984) in commercial American pornography, in which sexually explicit films experienced positive attention from mainstream cinemas, movie critics, and the general public.”

Oregon had photography studios for photographs, but there were other studios shooting film. The Oregon Journal reported on this in their weekend edition starting on August 5, 1972.
